CIRCLE SPOTLIGHT: Emily Diener

We had so much fun for our first weekend of ‘Always…Patsy Cline’ shows and we’d like to announce Emily Diener as our Circle Spotlight highlight for the week!

Emily first joined Circle Theatre in 2015 for the productions of Evita and Company. She was inspired to audition for roles after hearing some friends talk about their experience at Circle and how wonderful it was to be a part of our community!

Emily felt the push to audition for the role of Patsy Cline as she has Tennessee roots, a brother who works within the country music industry, is inspired by the power and emotion behind female country stars like Faith Hill, Dolly Parton, and Shaina Twain! Emily believes that Patsy Cline paved the way for female artists of all genres, and we owe her so much for standing up in a time where country music was heavily male-dominated. Well said Emily!

To prepare for any role, Emily takes the time to research her character. She takes into account the music, time period, and culture of the person she is playing. For Patsy Cline, Emily has watched multiple documentaries, read a few books, and dove into all things mid-century country music and Patsy Cline! She hopes that she will be able to do Patsy Cline justice.

Emily comes from a very musical family and we are excited that she has brought her talents to Circle Theatre! Her sound engineer and drummer brother works for current Opry Member Kelsea Ballerini, her father is a bass guitarist, and her mother is a talented vocalist! We are so excited to have Emily as part of our Circle family.

See Emily Diener as Patsy Cline June 3-20 for our Circle On the Lawn production of Always…Patsy Cline! Tickets are available at circletheatre.org.
